Consider broader stereo equipment coverage in Southern and Northern California
Many California automobiles (especially in southern California) have very high end after market stereo systems in their automobiles. This equipment is expensive and especially susceptible to loss by theft. Under the physical damage coverage provisions of an ordinary auto policy, sound-reproducing equipment are covered only if they are permanently installed in the vehicle. Furthermore, sound-reproducing equipment is subject to a nominal limit (usually $1,000) if it is installed in a location not used by vehicle manufacturers for such installations. If you have high end stereo equipment added to your ride, please consult with your local auto insurance agent and obtain an auto Stereo endorsement to cover the equipment for its ACV (actual cash value) or replacement value.
